 Time at hand

Everyone has a timer imprinted on their wrist from the day they're born. It maybe a quirk of genetic engineering, it may be a technological implant, it might just be the way things have always been, that's up to you.

For the purposes of this meme there are two types of timers, Life and Love.

You can have one, you can have both, that's up to you too, you can have a different one in every thread, I'm not the boss of you! You can use the coin flip or you can just pick, or mix and match, be creative!

Life Timers
Time, quite literally, is money. You have a year on your timer, and on your 21st birthday, it starts counting down. Now, even if you can't spend the time before your clock starts (as it's locked until then) you can still earn it, save it up for when you need it.

Time can be traded from person to person directly, or by way of banks. But if that timer hits zero, that's it, lights out.

Of course, you can also be killed before it reaches zero, accidents happen, but that would just be a terrible waste of time, wouldn't it?

Some suggestions:
Old Time - Your family has always had time, there's no way you'll run out even if you live fifty lifetimes. What do you spend it on? Frivolities? Or do you help the less fortunate? Are you happy with your lot? Or do you long for something less predictable? Do you wear a century on your arm at a time as a status symbol? Or do you keep a per diem?

Running Out of Time - You have less than 24 hours left on your timer. What do you do with your last day? Do you try to get more time? Are you resigned to knowing you're going to die? Is this a tragedy or an accident? Or is it just how you're used to living?

Daylight Savings - You've suddenly come into a small fortune. Was it bequeathed to you by a dowager aunt? Did you win the lottery? Rob a bank? Most importantly: what are you going to do with your new-found riches?

Stopped Clock - Your timer has stopped, but you aren't dead. Do you try to find out what's going on? Do you make as much as you can, hoping that it doesn't start up again and go faster to make up for the delay?

Love Timers
Love timers are a little trickier, because they count down to the moment you meet your One True Love. Time on these cannot be passed from one person to another, they're locked that way.

Love timers are a little more flexible, though, because people change, circumstances change, and where you might have a year one morning, you could have hours by the end of the day.

Or, perhaps, your timer stops, and you realize that the person you were meant to be with has died. Maybe, sometime, it will re-set, maybe it won't. Maybe you meet someone and the two of you hit it off, you know they must be the one... except only one of your timers is approaching zero. Or neither is, which would be worse?

Some suggestions:
True Believer - you haven't bothered looking for love, because you know that when your timer hits zero, they'll just be there, that's how true love works. It's fate.

Nonbeliever - you never look at your timer, because you hate the thought that it dictates when you'll fall in love. That's up to you and nothing else!

Stopped Clock - One day your timer just stops without reaching zero. How do you cope knowing that the person who would have been your soulmate is no more?

Wrong Time - Your timers have both reached zero at the same time, you're obviously meant to be together. Only one problem: You're mortal enemies, or at the very least can't stand each other. Will you try to make it work anyway?

You couldn't get yourself in line and you were stupid before and didn't realize what you felt for them. And now, they've moved on (or so it seems). You haven't. You feel like you lost your shot. It could be far, far too late for anyone! You're faced with them once more. You've gotten one more chance. You've used it, too - you've just confessed flat out! It came out of your lips with no provocation. So what do you do now? Follow it up with more blabbering confessions? Try to be smooth and win them over? Apologize? Hug and kiss them...or steal them away? What's more important, though, is how they respond. Rules + Leave a top comment, preferences etc etc. + Your character has had their second chance to confess their true feelings to the characters who comment to them. + Go from there.

One day, you just woke up from the darkness, confused and alone. You barely remember your own name, much less why you're here...or where here is, even. Your own body is strange to you, and if you have some kind of power or ability, that must be frightening. Perhaps you're angry at everything so new and different, lost in this strange world you don't understand or know your own place in. Maybe you feel the need to hide away, lest you be crushed by everyone out there who is sure to hurt you.

You are so, so alone.

Only you're not. There is one person, one person who's found you and taken you in. They've shown you kindness, looking after you while you can barely look out for yourself. Out of the goodness of their heart, they've shown you things, taught you things. Most importantly, they're giving you a new sense of identity. And for that, you've begun to appreciate them. More than words can say, actually. You care for them so deeply that your heart hurts around them. Is that normal? What is this feeling? You can't imagine life without them, and leaving them- That's something you could never consider. Is this lov...

The word's on the tip of your tongue, but you can't figure it out, exactly. What you can figure out is that you want to give everything you can to the person who's done so much for them. You want to stay by their side and make them happy. You want to protect them at all costs.

So no one would blame you for getting confused when you see them with someone else or getting angry when you believe they're in danger. And certainly it's only natural for you to get frustrated when you want to tell them what you think of them, what they mean to you, and you can't figure out what to do. Perhaps following instincts will do?

One thing you know is that this bond and these emotions will never go away, not even when you learn who you are.

It can be played as awkward, adventurous, tragic, cracky, fluffy, truly romantic, or anything in between. You can play at the beginning, the part where emotions have strongly developed, or even when the amnesiac has regained their memories and must now deal with new feelings.
