The Highly Inappropriate Tension Meme

Touches. Glances. Sides brushing, so close to each other. The moment is, most likely, quiet, subdued, and calm. Or it could be loud and full of life, right in the middle of a vivacious party. Yet, no matter the case, your blood is pumping - no, nearly boiling with the passion bubbling between you and your companion. Unfortunately, this tension is completely and absolutely out of line. Whether it be the place, the time, your relationship with the person (be that literal relation or power difference, age difference, experience difference, and so on), your own lack of knowledge, or personal convictions, you should not act on any building desires. But here's the thing about tension: it builds. It builds, and it builds, until... Well, even subtlety can come to an inappropriate head. HOW TO PLAY Comment with your character, canon, and preferences in the subject. In the comment body, be sure to mention if there are any squicks you have, scenarios you don't/do want to play out, and if you're okay with AUs or handwaved CR. Reply to others.

Establishing a good relationship can be hard. There's all that meeting, dating, falling in love - who needs it? It would be so much easier if you could just be in a relationship like that, fingers snapped, no questions asked. All the good companionship, none of the bad stress. At least, in theory, that would be nice. But in practice? Well, you'll have to see for yourself. You wake up, dazed and confused, maybe in a new place, maybe in a new world. Even if you're in your old faithful home, there's a new addition: someone who's living with you or visiting you, claiming to be involved with you. More than that, they're you're lover. Or so they claim! They don't seem to be lying. They're adamant that they have memories with you - perhaps even intimate memories - and don't know why you're acting so strangely. Now that you think about it, you have those memories too, and you begin to believe. Of course, you're together. It makes sense. In some part of your mind, however, you just can't shake the feeling that this life isn't exactly what it seems. Despite that niggling whisper, the two of you are happy together, happier than you've ever been, and a genuine love grows. All that paranoia from before echoes only as a mental lapse or a mistake in judgement. You weren't wrong at first. On the contrary, your gut instinct was right. Secrets can't stay that way, no matter how you feel, and how both of you were put together will eventually be revealed. How much between you is organic and how much manufactured? Can you stay with someone when you know you've both been caught in a lie? Comment with your character, preferences, and a little info about your character. Those replying to your character will be the one your character is in a relationship. In other words, your character will be the ones coming to the confused party and wondering why they don't remember the two of them being together. A bit of a switch up, so take note! Play the initial complications, the getting-to-know-each-other-even-though-we-know-each-other-already, or the big reveal! Respond to others.

We've see it everywhere. Rings inside pokeballs, in cakes, in drinks, during baseball games and more. This meme pinpoints on some of the more interesting (and really adorable!) ways to tell someone you want to spend the rest of your life with them!

Scenarios:

1. Down on One Knee
Traditionally. Either in public or privately, one of you has taken the daring risk of becoming completely vulnerable in the midst of the other. You've got the perfect ring tucked into your coat jacket, and now all that's left is to see how the other reacts.

2. Cake
After a long, very expensive dinner, all that's left is dessert. In one bite in particular, you feel a hard... something hit your teeth. Upon investigating this strange object, you find a beautiful ring covered in cake in your hand. Look up, and you'll find your significant other looking at you with those adorable goo goo eyes you just love.

3. Fortune Cookie
It's your average night at the local Chinese restaurant, nothing too special. And of course, every American knows that a good Chinese meal is never over until you eat the fortune cookie. But on this night, you crack open your cookie, surprised to find there's a lovely little ring looking back at you. The slip of paper that goes with all fortune cookies reads a simple: "Will you marry me?"(in bed???)

4. During the Game
In the midst of the tired players taking their much-earned break at half time, and the seemingly hundreds of birthday wishes flying past on the large screen, one message, in particular, will stand out to you. " ____ will you marry me?" And when you turn to your lover, heart thumping loudly, you'll see a huge ring presented before you.

5. In a Book
Just a quiet night together, playing some games, reading a few books. Upon locating a particular book, you crack it open, only to find that the pages have been hollowed out, leaving only a beautiful ring and a delicate note saying "Will you marry me?" in its place.

6. During the Movies
A.k.a MysteryGuitarMan on Youtube's most adorable proposal. You've prepared a little scene at the beginning of the movies, and had the people in charge play in between movie previews. The lights go up, buddy, and now it's your time to shine!

7.One Balloon
Better known as "the most adorable scene in Super Junior's No One music video." You've got tons of balloons, and together you and your honey let them go fly into the sky. But why didn't you let the last one go? I'll say that ring attached to the end has something to do with it!

8. Anything!
There is no doubt in my mind that I have missed out on some really cute proposals, so make your own up!

You're cursed - not just with bad luck, either. You destroy everything you touch. Everyone you've ever cared for has been badly injured or even killed, all because of you. No more. You have to keep people at arm's length, the further, the better. Yet now, someone has slipped past your defenses, and you find yourself falling again. You can't. You know you shouldn't.
