The means don't matter: fire, ice, apocalyptic continent shift, zombies, despotic government that makes you wish for the former. All you're left with is the ashes of our former world and danger at your tail because you, lucky you, have survived. Having your pick or your type is a luxury you don't have; even if you did, it would be an extremely low priority.

But you won't be alone. These mechs require two pilots - two pilots in complete compatible tandem or "drift," and not just anyone will do. So there is only one perfect match for you. This process cannot be a blunder. The lives of billions are counting on it.

The mech is a part of you both, becoming this way via neural interfaces and tech, so you must be in synch perfectly in thoughts and memories...and in physicality. You see, the robots run off the power of sexual contact between pilots, in the cockpit. The two must become one. Training, of course, is encouraged; you must get used to being with each other and with getting residual emotions, fantasies, and feelings. But what about people? Aren't we just animals, too? But for us, possessiveness is not a good social trait to have. That's understandable. Nobody likes someone so hung up on owning things. Especially not owning their lovers, since you can't simply have another person like that.

Yet even the most benign, most monkish of souls have possessive streaks at some moments when it comes to the person they're sleeping with. It's only natural. Usually, it comes from jealousy. You like having what's yours (even if it's a cruel way to think about things, that's the reptile brain peeking through), and you'd want it to stay that way. That means you want to show up the competition and remind the object of your desires that you're the apple of their eye. Of course, possessiveness doesn't always come from jealousy. Some people are just very, very...how do we say it...protective of them and theirs. How can they help that they want to show that in intimate ways?

In relationships, possessiveness throughout isn't healthy; still, a little bit of it can be actually arousing, especially in the bedroom. Today, the hotel is awakening that side of characters: the part that wants to screw their partner mercilessly to show them that they are the ones to touch them, to love them, to fuck them.

But my character isn't the possessive type, you say? Really? Really? As we've mentioned before, even the most kindhearted types feel it every once and a while. This meme never mentioned that it had to be a HUGE show of possession. It can even be a playful attempt in order to get their partner going or try a new kink in bed. Or, you could say the "influences" made them do it.

The Courtly Love Meme

Courtly love or domnei was a medieval European conception of nobly and chivalrously expressing love and admiration. Generally, courtly love was secret and between members of the nobility. It was also generally not practiced between husband and wife.

The "courtly love" relationship is modeled on the feudal relationship between a knight and his liege lord. The knight serves his courtly lady (love service) with the same obedience and loyalty which he owes to his liege lord. She is in complete control of the love relationship, while he owes her obedience and submission.The knight's love for the lady inspires him to do great deeds, in order to be worthy of her love or to win her favor. Thus "courtly love" was originally construed as an ennobling force whether or not it was consummated, and even whether or not the lady knew about the knight's love or loved him in return.

The "courtly love" relationship typically was not between husband and wife, not because the poets and the audience were inherently immoral, but because it was an idealized sort of relationship that could not exist within the context of "real life" medieval marriages. In the middle ages, marriages amongst the nobility were typically based on practical and dynastic concerns rather than on love. The idea that a marriage could be based on love was a radical notion. But the audience for romance was perfectly aware that these romances were fictions, not models for actual behavior. The adulterous aspect that bothers many 20th-century readers was somewhat beside the point, which was to explore the potential influence of love on human behavior. The behavior of the knight and lady in love was drawn partly from troubadour poetry and partly from a set of literary conventions derived from the Latin poet Ovid, who described the "symptoms" of love as if it were a sickness. The "lovesick" knight became a conventional figure in medieval romance. Typical symptoms: sighing, turning pale, turning red, fever, inability to sleep, eat or drink. HOW

♔ Consensual: Both of you are completely smitten, and you know you must leave.
♔ Nonconsensual: It's an unrequited love taken much too far; a literal "stealing" away.
♔ Uncertain: One or both of you are unsure about this action, the morals behind it, how it will end, or even about your "love."

Though it's usually more of a trope than a reality, oftentimes characters have a set "role" in the bedroom (often seen prevalently in yaoi manga re seme and uke). This meme plays off of the idea of switching up the usual setup and giving you a chance to play your character in a role that they would not generally be in in a smut thread.

Whether or not your character canonically has a "role" in bed doesn't matter. This meme is for fun and for exploring playing out smut with a character in a situation they're not exactly used to and/or you're not used to playing them in.

Please note that this isn't strictly just for the guys switching who tops- a lady who is normally extremely dominant in bed can give her partner the chance to control the show, etc.
