What you have here is nothing special. A trifle, really. From the outside looking in, most people would think this item someone gave you was worth very little. Could you blame them for thinking that way? Even if the trinket is something like jewelry, it can't mean too much - yet to you, it means the world. The one who gave it to you is the person you love most, so its value to others doesn't even register. What only deepens your appreciation is that, whether directly or indirectly, they proved your feelings are returned by giving you this token.

Only to you. No one else. For that reason, it's one of a kind and priceless.

This item could be a gift picked out just for you or a precious possession of theirs they decided to give to you. Maybe they want it back; maybe it's yours to keep forever and ever. Its purpose could be to show the world you all are together or a simple, kind gesture. Did they give you a long confession in combination with your gift? It's possible they didn't even think much of their action at the time, and you've put all the meaning into it - ie, it was a piece of clothing they let you use to keep warm or some cloth they tore for a bandage.

In the end, the circumstances don't detract from how much you treasure this meaningful token...and what it represents, you never want to lose.

  LOVE ON AN ADVENTURE meme

Lucky you. For a while, you get to eschew a normal life and see life past your door; you're going on a quest! It could be for personal reasons, for fun, for profit, or to save the world as you know it. In all likelihood, it's the latter, given the natural order of things, but hopefully it's not. Whatever the case may be, you won't be going it alone, however. Whether it's just you and a partner or a true fellowship, you've got people to back you up. You may not all start out as the best of friends, that's true - still, the fires of potential life or death scenarios or the threat of losing your booty draw you closer together, and a friendship forms.

With one member of your party, more than friendship grows between you.

But wait, you have to defeat the dark lord, find the oldest wand, fight evil by moonlight, create a giant robot, or any other number of tasks. There's no time for this sort of nonsense! Actually, you may push them away because of the mission or due to past wounds that tie into said mission. Maybe, though, you can steal moments to get closer, let a romance blossom...or more.

There's some darkness in your life. It doesn't have to be the epic, soul-crushing darkness that destroys your very existence; you can be a mild cynic or someone who's a little more somber than the rest of the crowd. Of course, you could have the terrible times in your life, making it hard to go on or making you so jaded you're even less than an automaton. What purpose is there in going on in life aside from going through the motion? That is until this person, this one special person came into your life, and it was like opening a window. They're all light and excitement and beauty and goodness, everything that you're not. They've given you a new lease on life, in some way, and now, there's passion, and perhaps new experiences for you. Even if you don't or can't recognize this, it's true. The one problem is that you don't feel anywhere near worthy of them, though you may not be familiar with this feeling. Actually, you don't want to taint them at all, despite you being, well, you. Yet still, here you are, with them in the most carnal way possible. Will your guilt eat you up? Can you tell them they deserve someone better? Or, if you desperately want to hold on to their light, maybe you can make yourself better and prove how much you want them by giving them everything.
