Sometimes, physical contact can be the best remedy to any problem - sometimes, you just want to hold someone. Whether you're feeling lonely, frustrated, upset, angry beyond belief, like you're losing grip on reality, like you need to calm down, damn it!, the presence of a warm form in your arms, preferably that of the person you care for most in the world? Because of course you're going to want to hold the one you love, your partner, or at the very least someone you have deep feelings for.

...if not, maybe the particulars aren't too important. You just need a fix of closeness, for some reason, hate it though you may. But it's not a weakness! You're just...clearing your head. Recharging your batteries. This will help you get stronger and not need anything of the sort again. It could be, however, that you've never held someone before and you want to try. Or perhaps it's not that serious at all; instead, you're just reaching out to the nearest person. Still, here nor there, if the romantic inclinations aren't there now, a little holding won't change that.

  OVERPROTECTIVE

There's a certain amount of loyalty expected in relationships; after all, why would you want to be with someone who doesn't respect or care for you, outlying issues notwithstanding? Ideally, there'll be mutual devotion and interest...yet sometimes, people can take loyalty to new extremes.

It's understandable if you've never been shown any kind of affection. Naturally, you'll cling to their attention, not wanting to lose that. If you only know how to follow orders, you could merely view pleasing them as an extension of that. Maybe you thought you would never be deserving of them or anyone like them. On the other hand, you could have had it all before, but you never paid much heed at all, like the true love-em-and-leave-em cad you were. No matter, all of that's in the past. You completely belong to them.

...remember, though, too much of a good thing can be not so good. Most people don't want to be worshipped, the majority don't want a glorified servant for a mate, and pretty much no one wants to be over-protected or controlled.

The following aren't prompts, not exactly. Instead, they're just ideas of how threads could go!

1. Positive: Not too much of anything here; rather, the perfect mix of loyalty and protectiveness. Okay, maybe you can get a bit too eager on either, occasionally. However, it's not frequent enough to be off-putting. Mostly.
2. Neutral: Your adoration for them is so deep that you're afraid to deepen you relationship because you're not worthy. That's a sweet sentiment, yet not exactly what either of you want.
3. Negative: There's nothing wrong with wanting to protect the person you love from physical or emotional harm, but you need to learn when the threats are serious and when they aren't. Or, on another facet, following their orders - or what you think are their orders - like a good little soldier will rarely turn out well for either of you in the long run. You'll look desperate, at best. At worst...let's not get into that.
